Sea Studios Film Festival in Honor of World Ocean Day

Sea Studios Foundation's inaugural Film Festival in honor of World Ocean Day, with the theme Think Beyond Plastics, will be held Saturday, June 6, from 12 - 7 p.m. at the Cannery Row IMAX Theater in Monterey. At Noon-Marina of the Zabbaleen, a Blue Nile Studios film directed and written by Engi Wassef. At 2:30 p.m.- Message in the Waves, a film by Rebecca Hoskins and the BBC Natural History Unit, that looks at some of the environmental challenges and plastic pollution issues facing the people and wildlife of the Hawaii. At 5:00 p.m.-Dirty Secrets, a Sea Studios coproduction with National Geographic, hosted by Edward Norton, focusing on the dangers of plastic.

The 6th Annual Cannery Row Block Party returns to the Row on Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Locals and visitors are invited to celebrate the summer at this free day of fun and entertainment for all ages. Live music, ice cream and rib eatin' contests, and wild animal and monkey shows, balloon artists & magicians are just some of the attractions. Don't forget the kids, the cameras, and a can or two for the Food Bank for Monterey County!
