Where were you during the epic battle of the 2008 season between Casey Stoner and Valentino Rossi, with many changes of the lead and some of the closest racing action in history? Rossi sealed his victory with a kiss, parking his bike in the Corkscrew, a series of turns with a 300 foot elevation change and kissing the pavement. The new race date will give extra incentive for American riders Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards as they take on the world's best on the most patriotic weekend of the year.
The race weekend will include special 4th of July events and celebrations including the Mid America Auction, Riders for Health charity event, musical intertainment, laser light show and Bike Night on the Row.

The New Monterey Business Association presents Movies in the Park! Bring the whole family and enjoy a cinematic evening under the stars on the second Saturday of the month at Scholze Park in New Monterey. Tonight we'll be watching Independence Day! All films will begin after sunset, but you are welcome to come early and bring a picnic.
All Movies in the Park will be held outdoors at Scholze Park, located at the corner of Lighthouse Ave and Dickman Ave in front of the Monterey Senior Center. Remember to dress warmly and bring blankets and/or chairs. Please do not bring pets or alcohol. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Pacific Repertory Theatre presents The TheatreFest Arts and Crafts Fair featuring artists and craftsman from all over California. In addition PacRep will provide entertainment both Saturday and Sunday as well as a wide variety of food vendors.
PacRep has been sponsoring these events for over 25 years as a fundraiser for the central coasts only professional theatre company.

DEL MONTE SHOPPING CENTER TO HOLD A SPECIAL KIDS IN MOTION DAY

Bring the family and get in motion! Run, skip, hop and jump to Del Monte Shopping Center to experience a fun-filled, hands-on Kids in Motion Day on Saturday, July 18th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. This free community event will feature an array of exciting activities for kids of all ages, including a Baby Animal Petting Zoo, Game Tables, Kite Flying, Wheelie Mobilee, Cookie Decorating, Coloring Tables, Face Painting, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Story Time, Prizes, Singing, Dancing, and more!

Title 24 Residential Updates

This class will cover changes to Title 24 building energy code standards that will take effect beginning August of 2009. Topics will include fenestration changes, mechanical ventilation requirements, refrigerant charge verification, kitchen lighting changes, duct sealing requirement changes, package D HVAC requirements, and many other subjects relevant to Title 24 changes. Some prior knowledge of Title 24 standards is assumed. Complimentary catered breakfast and lunch will be provided. CV Fiesta Golf Tournament for Champions

The 13th annual Golf Tournament for Champions is part of the Carmel Valley Kiwanis Fiesta, which is always the first weekend in August. This year the tournament will honor local news personality Hunter Finnell and proceeds will benefit a youth Scholarship in Hunter's name and also support local Fire Dept. Equipment funds to honor their suppression efforts during last years fires. The format is a three person team which is then paired with a local youth golfer in a handicapped scramble.
