The Shake Family is proud to announce the 2nd Annual 'Sabu's Safari Under the Big Tent' Dinner and Auction Benefiting The Salvation Army of Monterey. Join Us! History of the Memorial Fund Since our father's death, and beginning in 1999, we have held annual fundraisers with the proceeds being donated to various charities. We are pleased to tell you that we have had an overwhelming response from the community. On behalf of our entire family, we would like to thank all of you who have participated in these fundraisers in memory of our Dad. To kick off the fundraiser each year, the Shake Family makes a $5,000 donation on December 5th in memory of our father. In addition, we also donate 10% of the gross proceeds on December 5th from our restaurants, Old Fisherman's Grotto, The Fish Hopper, Isabella's Italian Seafood, Cabo's Wild Mexican Seafood, and Lattitudes at Lover's Point. This year's goal is to raise $35,000 by midnight on Christmas Eve. We need your help to accomplish this.

Monterey Sports Car Championships Featuring the American Le Mans Series

The 2009 race season concludes in dramatic fashion with the high-tech, high-speed Le Mans prototypes and GT machines of the American Le Mans Series staging a Saturday afternoon-into-evening four-hour endurance race. Sunday's action features the season finale of both SPEED World Challenge Touring and GT series, IMSA challenge by Michelin, Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear and Cooper Tires Atlantic Championship powered by Mazda. For the Fans - Access! Full access to the paddock, a unique opportunity to walk the Open Pre-Race Grid, attend Fan Forums and Driver Autograph Session, listen to informative Tech Talks, Driver Chats and American Le Mans Radio, visit Manufacture Car Corrals, the Fan Headquarters and the Open Post-Race Trophy Presentations.


Kidfest!

On Saturday and Sunday, October 10th and 11th, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Kidfest will return to the Monterey County Fairgrounds. A popular family event for 14 years, Kidfest is a FREE two-day event full of education, entertainment, interaction, fun and prizes! It is an edutainment type of event that combines education and entertainment while creating a safe and fun atmosphere for children.

This year, A&S Metals (asmetals.com) promoting and expanding this very special community event. Founded in 1969, A & S Metals is a 40-year old recycling company with 6 locations in California and Montana. Their corporate headquarters are situated at a 25-acre facility in Castroville. Their two-fold mission is: To preserve the earths tropical rainforests by empowering the indigenous people who are its natural custodians. Benefiting The SPCA for Monterey County, this exclusive party gives dog-lovers the chance to celebrate the spooky holiday with their pet while enjoying the scenic views of Quail Meadows. Bringing together dogs of all shapes and sizes, while enjoying the beautiful Carmel Valley sunshine, this event is family-friendly fun! Featuring a costume contest for children and dogs (entry to the dog costume contest is available with a $5 donation to the SPCA), a dog fashion show showing off the hottest new designer doggy trends, a live and silent auction and childrens activities including a trick or treat which will surely get tails wagging! Adoption services, provided by The SPCA for Monterey County, will give you the chance to meet and take home a new furry friend! Registration is $35 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Children under 4 and all pets are free. The registration includes a delicious farm fresh lunch, beverages and a goodie bag with spooky treats. Register before October 10th and have your furry friend featured on the Quail Lodge website and the event program when you submit a digital photograph.
